If there's one person that gets fashion excited, it's Michelle Obama! The fashion world has been following the First Lady since she stepped out four years ago in Jason Wu's white one-shouldered bridal-like gown catapulting the little-known Taiwanese-born designer as a household name. This time, the First Lady has done it again with Wu's cross-halter ruby red floor length gown putting end to all speculation and surprising all of America who were expecting her to give another designer some exposure.
Wu was equally surprised tweeting "#Inshock!!!" to his faithful followers on Twitter. Wu who was watching the Inaugural Ball with this staff in this design studio stated, “I’m still floating, it is a big surprise. The White House
kept me pretty clueless until five minutes ago.” Wu further added, "As a designer, you have to drown out all of that noise. You have to think about the client, and I felt like red was such a
perfect color for her. It’s such a confident color for her and it really
was my first instinct.” Looks like Wu isn't going anywhere as long as Michelle Obama is around!
The First Lady also accessorized the ruby dress with Kimberly McDonald jewelry and wore Jimmy Choo shoes. Earlier in the day, Michelle Obama also debuted a new hair style that included bangs to mixed reviews. Personally, I think she looks younger and fresher and can really do no wrong when it comes to fashion!
Congrats to the First Lady for a wonderful choice and to Jason Wu for designing such a fabulous dress!

Absolutely love the choice of color. The red is sharp and the dress is flattering. Jason is an awesome designer and I'm glad he's representing the Asian community. Well written article. Love you!
